About Kendra Penney

I’m Kendra Penney, a registered physiotherapist. I graduated from Queens University with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy in 2014, after completing my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick in 2012.

Since becoming a physiotherapist, I’ve had the opportunity to work with diverse conditions and age groups, all while completing additional training in manual therapy, functional dry needling and functional movement assessment. In 2019, I began my journey in women’s health. At the time, I found myself looking to gain more information and knowledge of the pelvic floor to further help my orthopedic clients get the care they needed. Since then, I’ve continued to deepen my knowledge and understanding through further education and currently offer orthopedic, women’s pelvic health, and breast health physiotherapy.

Fast forward to today: I delivered my first son in August of 2021 and my second son in September of 2023. Not only have I experienced pelvic floor physiotherapy from a client’s perspective, but I now have a special interest in treating the pelvic floor for a perinatal population. I am a big advocate in preventative care when it comes to overall health and I believe pregnancy and the postpartum period of time are no exception. Having an understanding of how your body works, how it will change throughout your pregnancy, how you can help your own recovery during that post partum period and how you can return safely to the activities you love make a huge quality of life difference. That’s where I’m here to help!

A bit more…

When not working with clients, you can find me spending most of my free time with my husband, our sons and our Bernese Mountain Dog! I enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible to hike, paddle-board and take in all the scenery that Nova Scotia has to offer. I also spend time doing yoga, enjoy strength training, and am always looking forward to our next travel adventure, big or small!
