Even though our name is Mama Wellness Co and may imply that we serve only mothers, orthopedic physiotherapy is available to people of all genders, ages, conditions, and abilities.

The goal of physiotherapy is to enhance a person's overall quality of life by maximizing mobility and function. Physiotherapists aim to reduce pain, improve strength and flexibility, and restore normal movement patterns, allowing individuals to return to their daily activities and achieve their personal wellness goals. By addressing a wide range of physical conditions and injuries, physiotherapy helps promote optimal physical performance, prevent further injury, and support long-term wellness.

What to expect during an orthopedic physiotherapy assessment?

Prior to your appointment, you will be asked to fill out a health intake form and Mama Wellness Co’s consent form. This will provide a better understanding of your health history before we begin your one-on-one 60-minute assessment. During the assessment, I will take a detailed subjective history, review your goals, explain relevant anatomy to help you better understand your body, and describe each of the assessment options available and their importance. I will assess overall functional movement, focusing closely on your primary complaint and the surrounding areas. Based on our findings, we will develop a treatment plan together to work toward your goals.

Treatment options include education, manual therapy, exercise prescription, functional dry needling, and electrotherapy, as needed.
